Avatar Probs

I was just wondering if it's possible to make 'remote uploads' possible for avatars. It's just i was hoping to use some little animations i made ages ago but they're larger than 50kb. On all other forums i've been on you can use a http://........ link to upload your avatar from.

Okay, this feature will not be possible. It has nothing to do with our site, all the settings are configured correctly. Our host has a certain setting disabled, which we need enabled for this to work. I am, however, going to write to them and ask if they can enable it.

Why would they disable it?? How strange. :p

Probably a security issue. Well, I wrote to them. Let's see what they have to say about it.

Yes, just as I thought, it posed a security problem. They said they will not enable it. Sorry about that guys. It's out of my hands. Uhh, if you have images that you want to upload from a remote location, just give me the URL. I'll try uploading them to the server and giving you that link, or giving you the image to save to your computer.

Well she actually brought up exactly the same thing, but look at her avatar, she's got it up now.

Well I was trying to get my current avatar loaded and I kept on trying but it said: Sorry Remote uploads disabled.

But I kept on trying and suddenly it worked! I don't know how I just copy and pasted the Url from www.photobucket.com (http://www.photobucket.com) like I was doing before and put it in the box and it suddenly happened!

I'm taking a guess here, but what was the URL of your avatar Millie? Did it contain the name of the file (ending it .gif, .jpg, etc.)?
