My dog is mentally challenged. Well i think i told you this before but, about a month or two ago my dog got sprayed by a skunk. Well just tonight my dog was in the back yard and then this skunk comes running down from the forest(my backyard backs onto a forest) and my dog just stands there and even kind of goes closer to it to see what it is. Probably thinking 'ohh that thing sprayed me not to long ago, i wonder how it did that... i don't have magical powers like that....let's go sniff the magical stink monster.' So anyway then my mom noticed the skunk running after my dog and my mom is now screaming her head off at the retard to get in the house so he doesn't get sprayed. So my dog finally listens and runs in the house but the skunk was like a foot behind him. lol He was being chased by a skunk!!! lol At this point though my sister and i are laughing our heads off at our really smart dog. And he comes in like nothing happens. And my mom is all like 'wow he dodged a bullet there'. lol Wow my dog is REALLY smart.

He sounds pretty cute to me! :D Hehehe ;)

I'm sure he wouldn't have liked to get sprayed by a skunk again, and neither your family!! Maybe he needs a second, or the third charm to really understand what that black and white furry creature does? :D

Glad he didn't get skunked! :D

Oh lord. My dad would shoot my dog if he went near a skunk again after being sprayed the first time hahaha . That is so cute out of him to do that :P

Glad we don't have skunks in Australia.

Reminds me of a friends dog. A large Malamute. They kept horses and had an electric fence for them so they could move them into different areas. They were only renting and didn't want to put up fences (or maybe the owner wouldn't let them). They had main fences but the horses would eat out the entire paddock so they divided it with the electric fence. Horses never went near it. Dumb dog would run at the horses and of course get zapped by the fence. You would think that would teach him. NOOOOOOO. He would go back and bite the fence. Not once, not twice but 4 or 5 times. This would happen every time he went to chase the horses.

Did you guys know that skunks are amazing pets. You can buy them at pet stores. When they are personally bred, they remove that stink after they're born.

After that, they make awesome pets if you have time for them. :)

Ya i heard they can become pets. But i don't know if i like the idea of that... i mean i think there are just some animals that should not have become domesticated/ left in the wild.

I agree. I don't think a skunk would make a good pet at all.

I agree with them making good pets. ive always wanted a skunk :)
And i've heard of people who had them as pets and they're just like a cat or dog. i watched a thing on tv once about them and this woman had several and they free ranged the house. Skunks just get a bad rep because they spray when frightened :( I hate it when animals get discriminated against, it isnt their fault.

I'm not saying they're bad animals. I'm just saying i don't agree with them being kept as pets. Just one of the many pets that shouldn't have been domesticated that's all. You can also get squirrels as pets and wallaby's for pets. Personally i don't agree with it... that's all.

I wasnt directed that at you. Just in general, there are alot of great animals that the majority or people judge before they meet 'em.

I think its basically "quality over quanity".
I always choose quanity because from experience I think thats best. sure, a bird might not be as happy being a pet but it generally lives a longer life.

That is one Lucky Skunk!

All the dogs I've had would have eaten him. One bite to the neck snapping it, followed by eating it, or carrying it around like an award.

Heck, the dog across the street had a squirrel struggling in it's mouth as the dog pranced around showing off his "prize" to everyone who walked by. When the squrrel finally died the dog proceeded to eat it. ick. -_-

your dog sounds normal to me

I honestly think animals have a short term memory when it comes to certain things though because even know they got hurt, or stunk to high heaven, They keep doing it

but ya know they never forget where their treats are kept :P

If the skunk comes around a lot all i can suggest is to invest in a lot of tomato juice to give the dog a bath in after it gets sprayed :P
