Hey guys ok basically I was just watching my budgies again and I noticed Romeo putting his foot over Sukhi again so this obviously means that he is in mating form but she seems to be running away from him - I mean I know they are deeply in love with each other and he is almost close to mating her but is this part of the process and do I need to be patient?
She also explores the nest box a lot and seems to spend a lot of time in their too.:S

I don't know a lot about budgie's mating I'm afraid but I would say that you would have to be patient. They may prefer too mate in their own time when their alone. My friend's finches didn't like to be watched during the process.
I'd also say patience is key. Keep waiting, and keep us updated!

I used to have finches and they would breed if you were standing there watching them...lol...But then again they were SUPER friendly little birds and loved people visiting their cage so...it's probably different with budgies...My budgie Fran kept trying to breed with Skye and it turned out Fran was a she  lol I think she's a bit gender confused :p Patience is good! :D I have none but I'm sure you can pull it off...rofl.

Well my friend's finches do bite and the female one yet the first male on. :o So they are little terrors. ;)

Budgies exhibit all forms of behavior, just like humans, when they wish to breed. Sometimes the female will become very aggressive towards the male. Usually, however, it is the opposite. And, you'll find the female may repulse the male's advances at first. Believe me, she'll be receptive when she's ready. Patience is the watchword here. And, when they ARE ready, they pay no attention to an audience! :-)
