Looks like we have aquired a new little kitten!!! the hubby went to the local grocery store to pick up a few things for supper. he was gone maybe 15 minutes, and when he walked into our home, he had this little black kitten in his arms!! Some one put the little gal in the car while he had run in, and when he hopped in the car to come home, she crawled into his lap.

she's black with 1 lone white marking underneath between her hind legs. I don't think she's more than 8 weeks old at best. So far, Tigger, our big ol housecat, just kinda sniffed her and followed for a few minutes, but not making any move to hurt her in any way. that's my boy!! totally accepting of every creature that comes into this house!!

We're still trying to "figure out" what we're going to do with her, but chances are pretty good she's in her new home now. She's just way too adorable!! I just can't believe someone would do that though!! just toss kittens in random cars because they can't be bothered to find homes for them....that's cruel!!!!

Wow, what a way to bring home a new kitty!

Even if what the previous owner of the kitten was wrong, I would say it's much better than just dumping her in the street :o I've seen that happen way too many times :(

Congratulations on her, it seems like she's found a great home :)

Looks like she found some nice new owners ( right? )

How could anybody just leave a kitten to fend for them selves :(

The little kitten sure got lucky that she was tossed into the car of a family that would love and care for her. She sounds so cute.

she seems happy and healthy...a bit timid, but overcoming that. as I type this she's laying across me just under my chin purring away. She's easy to lose though if she gets around anything black. she laid down on a black backpack earlier, and I almost stepped on her!! you could not see her.

she's been sitting here watching Griffen climb over the baby budgie cage, just with interest, hasn't made a move towards her. But thinking I'm going to be keeping the spray bottle handy until I know she's learned birds are friends, not toys or a meal

Heh - good luck on that one!! The two younger of the feral felines have one main ambition in their lives - to eat a certain yellow budgie for lunch.:( (Her cage is in an area they can't reach.) Midge, being the feisty girl she is, doesn't take this lying down. The cats have both had their paws pecked when I've had the cage down for cleaning, and now keep a couple of feet back, with Midge keeping a beady eye on them. Strangely enough, my big male cat has absolutely no interest in hunting her whatsoever. He might take a casual look at the cage if it is down, but will then stroll off on his own business.

Hope you have fun with your new kitty!!

lol well it worked when we first brought Tigger home, and he was bound and determined Jetta and the 3 rats were his own personal play toys! But after a month of getting squirted if he did anything I didn't like in relation to the other furred and feathered members, he learned, and soon was letting them crawl all over him. to this day he's accepted every creature that has come into this house, and I no longer worry about going outside with the kids for awhile while the birds have the flight of the Apt. It's not unusual to find Tigger napping on the back of the couch with Griffin kinda resting her head on his head.

I'm hoping this is something I can achieve with the new kitten. so far other than watching them, she's paid them no mind, but already enjoys pestering poor Tigger, who has gotten way too used to a sedate life!! Now he's got this kitten chasing his tail and trying to romp all over him when he just wants to nap lol.

well, the hubby figured he was only running in for a minute or 2, so didn't bother to lock his door. Can't really get upset about someone getting into the car, not when they left behind such a sweetie pie! I still don't agree with just tossing a kitten in random cars just to get rid of them, there are too many ppl out there that would have just tossed the kitten onto a sidewalk or something, but at the same time I'm glad they did it this way rather than drowning, as too many ppl seem to do with unwanted kittens.

And of course, dropping a kitten in a car with both a car seat and booster seat in the back I think would nearly guarentee a home for the little thing, specially if the kids happen to be IN the car when the kitten was discovered! I'm just glad this one ended up in ours, we're too softhearted to let her go now (although my mom did try to steal her on us already, and she has 2 cats!), but I worry about any other kitten gifts that may have been bestowed to other shoppers this afternoon....going to be keeping a close eye out for kittens in the area for a bit

Everyone is Lucky in this situation. You are lucky you have a new kitten, the person is lucky he abandoned the kitten in the right car and kitten is lucky that she has found a new home. All good :D

I don't agree with ditching cats in random people cars, but i'm glad he has a nice home with you, someone who will care about him. :)

Well, Luna is settling in great, and making herself known around here! Poor Tigger isn't used to getting pounced on every time he tries to nap lol. Luna has made herself quite at home here, and is once again on the bed sleeping (finally!) on the hubby's pillow, kinda wrapped around his head. She went into play mode when he tried to sleep and kept attacking his feet or running up and down the blanket over him. We both laughed. The kids enjoy her too, she played with them all day, pouncing on hands, feet or anything they rolled or dragged across the floor.

So far she's left the birds alone...Griffin landed within 2 feet of her on the couch this afternoon, scaring poor Luna and causing her to hiss, but she settled down and just kinda watched Griffin for awhile.

But i think I'm going to look into a glow-in-the-dark collar for her...she lays down on anything black, and you do not see her!!! I stepped on the poor thing twice today when she fell asleep on a black towel the kids had dragged out for their "tent" and camping play!! and once the lights go out?!? forget it, she becomes invisible!!
