I bought some guppies today after waiting for months for my tank to filter. =)

I wanted to get 4 males and 1 pleco but they were out of plecos. Before I was going to buy my fish from a fish specialty shop then I found out they were sexists so I went to the local pet store. Lol.

I just got the four males then. They are so cute. =)

The pleco, when I get it, in a couple weeks, will be called Bento Box.

These are my guppies' names and how I tell them apart. :p

"Pepe La Blue" is dark blue.

"Buckles" is light blue.

"Kakuro" suffers from insanity and is just yellowish.

"Pixel" is yellow with turquoise near his tail.

Hehe. :D

I'll post pics sometime. :)

Are they the fancy tailed guppies? (I wonder if there are any other type of guppies, but just wondering hehe)

Congratulations on them. I bet they're stunning in color :) I can't wait for picture either :)

When I was in AP Bio class, we had a gigantic tank with a few male and female guppies. Every morning, we would look in and once in a while, we would see just born fry :) They're so small!

Good for you for letting your tank cycle properly before adding fish.:) So many people just set it up at the same time as they get the fish, and then wonder why the fish die and the water gets scuzzy. We've almost always had male guppies too. I'm not particularly interested in having loads of little gupplings around, and they are such prolific breeders.

Thank you!

Yes, they are fancy guppies. They are very pretty. :)

I got all males because I didn't want to end up with hundreds. Maybe someday in the future I'll try breeding, but not now. I do have two other empty ten gallon tanks in the basement, just in case ^.^

It was hard waiting for the tank to filter properly, but it was for the best. They seem happy now, they're eating at the moment. <3

Boy, they sure are hard to get a picture of!! They are so fast.

This is their tank before they were put in it. There is no heater in it in the pics. Now, of course, there is.

Congrats on getting your guppies. And breeding guppies isn't anything you have to try to do it will just happen and happen and happen. I'm glad to be rid of my guppies. I'm happy with my dwarf plattys. They don't reproduce nearly as bad as guppies. And after months of having no babies make it after being born(the other fish would eat them) I finally noticed the other night I have 2 babies.:D I get to set up another tank this week for my kids bettas. I love fish tanks can't wait til we own a house then I can get a huge one.

Thank you!

Wow, they must be...quite, um, busy fish. I'm happy with my males, babies would be cute, but I wouldn't want hundreds..

LadyBug, guppies are small tropical fish :)

Thank you =) They do rock, they're so cute...especially when they eat :XD: The pellety things were sinking and they were chasing them and catching them and carrying them around :XD:
