I have a 3 year old male budgie alone in his cage. He regurgitates and mates with anything in his cage, including my hand. When he is out of the cage he does not do this behaviour. He will eat all the food in his cage and then regurgitate it all up , leaving nothining for himself. No matter how much seed I put in , he does it, he is getting very skinny!!!! I am afraid he will starve. I've taken everything out of his cage, except branches and dishes. ??? Please Help:budgie:
Maybe you should get him a wife?
How old is he?
What colour is his cere? (The fleshy bit above his beak.)
See what other members have to say.

His cere is bright blue,I have another budgie but he's not interested, I would really prefer him to bond to me,but it's impossible with his high sex drive.
If his cere is bright blue then he is ready to breed.
I don't know what you can do, does anyone else?

I am not familiar with having a super frisky budgie that actually got skinny because he was regurgitating so much. You may wish to consider taking him to a vet to have him weighed to see if he is in fact an unhealthy weight.
The only thing I can suggest is to remove anything that he is being sexually stimulated by (at least the things you CAN remove) and to perhaps give his cage a redesign to focus his attention elsewhere (i.e. move his perches and toys around). I may see what else I can come up with to hopefully give you some more insight about his behaviour.

my budgie does similar things. he doesnt regurgatate every where because he does it with the other one. but he does mate with my hand:(
Maybe your budgies are going to breed soon?
Billy and Lily regurgitate more than ever now and have tried to mate this evening! Only time will tell whether it was sucessful!

ooooh i hope it was! you may have some eggs coming up!
I would just get him a mate as soon as possible and stop providing him with anything that looks like a bird in his cage.Wow I never heard about a Budgie like that! STRANGE
Lily spent ages in the nestbox last night, but still no eggs, but her vent looking bigger.
