Birdmen

I haven't posted here in a while but I hope to change that. Anyway, some of you might remember my budgies Birdmen and Lily. Life has been very routine for them, but I think they are very happy.

Lily (obviously a female) has always been bossy towards Birdmen but he seems to take it and always has without much grief. I know it's normal for the female to be this way but lately I notice that she almost always chases him, at least more than she used to.

If she comes near her, she just runs at him and she goes to another perch. I haven't seen him preen her in a while either (she has never preened him to my knowledge, he is always the one doing it)

Birdmen seems as happy as you could expect, but I remember when I first got Lily you could see a big spike in his happiness and now it just seems to have leveled off to when he was alone in his cage. I really don't know if it's a dramatic difference but I'm just wondering if Lily is too bossy towards him?

Is it possible for a female to be too hard on a male? I really don't think this is the case for them but I'm just curious more than anything. I have never seen her hurt him, besides just a peck and a chase and they've never been in a fight (if they can even do that, I don't know).

Anyways, any thoughts on this would be welcome.

Sounds like Lily is just being a girl :)

Most female budgies will have this type of reputation (I'm sure some male members here would say the same for females! ;)) so it's nothing out of the ordinary. Is Lily going through breeding conditions right now? I know that when their hormones rise a bit, they tend to act up a bit as well.

I'm sure some more female-experienced members will be happy to give some more input :)
