when my bird chrips, like the pretty chirp, its usually when im in the other room. when i come in 2 check on her, 2 tell her im right here, she stops. she sometimes does chirp only a little when im in my room wit her. my mom dad and brother say when im gone she chirps all the time but when im home wit her shes quiet, and barley chirps. is she doin this 2 see where i am?? or dus it mean something else, is she just chirping?? wut does it mean?? thnxx.:D

I think its just a budgies way of communicating with us humans as they do this a lot with their own kind....basically they are talking to us in their own language its really nice isn't it.

I think you are right about the chirping being her way of contacting you. Just my opinion anyway.

No matter the species, birds communicate so well. We have a little male canary, 3 years old. He is hand tame inside the cage, loves to sit on someone's hand. When he wants attention he will sit on his high perch and chirp to us. Or he will go down to the perch in front o the door and chirp loudly, telling us to come and play. Someone I know gave up a beautiful Quaker paarrot and told me that birds are "mindless." I don't have to wonder who's the mindless one there! Many, many happy years with your feathered friend.

My Benny does all the time, I just wish I could know what he is saying. He looks so brainy when he does it and he reminds me of a very clever teacher. :D
