Ok so I've got a choice between building a play gym for the birds, or a new cage.

The cage would be big enough for all four budgies (possibly for six if I get these two new ones) so it would be pretty large. I'm not sure how to go about the cage yet, and the biggist issue is any specifics the cage would have to be to fit 6 budgies comfortably and safely. Do you have to use bars or would wire be ok? I have so many things I'm unsure of about the cage.


My second choice is a play gym. Again I can build this big and make various things for them to do. It would probably be the thing I havemore idea's for.

I'm not sure which is a better idea to build? Opinions?

I would go with a playgym because its hard to get powder coated bars and wire is galvanized and you have to treat it, etc. but in the end its all up to you :)

Could you look for a bargain:) like a great cage and a playgym:), its just what i do if i cant decide i look for great bargains and get both:D

I'm actualling going to build both myself :p or at least try! lol

I actually had the PERFECT box thing for an outside aviary. It was the PERFECT size and shape! I would have so smoothed it out a bit, put on some doors and shelfs on it and made it into my own aviary pen if I could keep it outside. It was too tall for inside and it's too cold/rainy here to keep the birds outside :( But it was perfect for that and was at no cost to me! :( I got it, but I'm using it for wood, *le sigh*

If only I lived in a warmer climate!

Maybe a cage cross play-gym

But common sense kicks in: Do you really need another cage? Will your budgie think it's home or trap? so nearly the cage cross play-gym is good.
