Our female budgie who is about one year old is laying eggs.
We have no male.
Is this normal?
How many will she lay, she is now up to four as of today.
Any help???:budgie:

Yes this is normal for her to lay eggs she can lay as many eggs as she wants but dont take them away from her orelse she will replace them with more be sure to have a cuttle bone for her and a mineral block because when her body creates these eggs they are taking away alot of her energy!!!

Jonathan is correct in saying that this is normal. The number of eggs that a budgie will lay varies. For example, my girl Skyla only laid two and she laid them two days apart. Other budgies may lay up to eight before they stop (this is not typcial though). More commonly, budgies lay between 4 and 6 eggs.
If you wish to discourage her from laying (which may be a good idea since egg laying really takes a toll on the female budgie), there are a few things you can do.
take away anything in her cage that she finds sexually stimulating
don't provide her with a nest box
avoid placing any nesting materials in her cage
remodel (rearrange) her cage to focus her attention on other "non-brooding" behavioursIs your little budgie looking interested in the eggs? (.. does she sit on them or play with them?) Or is she ignoring them? If she is ignoring them, you could consider taking them away.
Hope this helps!!
They are proberbly infertile eggs.
I agree totally with Budgiekin.

Eggs are infertile as we only have the one budgie in the house.
She is queen of all she surveys.
No breeding box or nesting material in the cage. Eggs are laid on the floor.
After she lays each egg she then eats it.
I think to regather the energy she is losing in laying the eggs.
We have always had male budgies before so all this is new to us.
It looks like today she will be laying another egg?
What is a mineral block? I have never heard of this before.
She always has cutlefish bones in her cage.
Thanks for advise so far it is great!!!

A mineral block is essentially a chalky substance (sort of like a cuttle bone) that you can give your bird to help them get calcium and other minerals that are good for their health. You should be able to go into any pet store and find them. Hagen Living World makes them and they come in all kinds of different shapes and colours.
Here is an example of a mineral block (also called a Beak Block):

Here is a picture of my little Kiwi with his orange mineral block:

My friend's cockatiel layed an egg on me once. We were just sitting on the floor playing chess and the bird was sitting on my leg and it just kind of... layed an egg... it was weird.

That is kind of funny Kiwi! I bet that came as a surprise! It is amazing that something like that could happen without you even really realizing it until the egg actually arrives. Was the egg fertile?
I don't think so. I think we did know it was about to happen because she started making some noises but there wasn't much we could do except let it happen. I was like 10 or 11 so it was a pretty big deal at the time lol.
Thats funny! Ha ha!
Now about mineral blocks...
Billy and Lily have a pink block just a normal cube sort of shape block.
They have recently been eating it like mad, the same with cuttlebone and egg shells. Could it be they want to breed?
