After doing my research, I decided to be crafty, I made a tree this weekend, after we were done trimming the trees/bushes. Scrubbed and baked, and luckily it's a hit:)
It needs a lot more toys and treats. She's starting to fly now, so I want her to really really like this, so she doesn't poop everywhere:)

I think she likes it. You did a great job. Have you thought about making more and selling them? How are the branches staying in the pot?

Great Idea. I was thinking of buying a flower pot stand or something, but something def. needs to go under it.
I used yellow maple. I searched and searched google and couldn't find one bad thing about it. I had just helped my mother in law chop a bunch of low branches off the trees, so they are strong, right from the base of the branch.
I used a tiny bit of plaster of paris in the bottom, then put bunches of paper towel on top so she couldn't get to it.
Thanks everyone! I'm a nerd and very proud of it:)

Hiiii, haha sorry, I answered atvchick and not you:) I used Yellow Maple:) I searched everywhere and couldn't find anything bad about them. We had just gotten done trimming some of the trees at my mother in laws, so they are right from the strong part of the branch.

That is a Great Idea - We live in a very wooded are - I think I'll try it myself! What are the types of trees that are not appropriate?

I googled to find out. But I remember that a lot said like Oak and Red maple weren't good...
Here's one link : http://www.budgies.org/info/plants.html

Yup she's already at it. The second I put her on it she went at chewing it. So then, me being paranoid, (even though I had already done research) I took her off it, and looked tons more. Still couldn't find anything that the tree was bad for her:) And oh yeah I scrubbed and scrubbed. Plus they were fresh off the tree:)

I was thinking of doing my own tree with bamboo but I'm not sure if it would last with budgies.

Ooooohhh... Bamboo! That's a really good idea! :D Where would you get that, though?

thats a problem, I have no idea. I'd start with searching the net to see what I can find or going to plat/tree stores to see if they have any. IT's one of the safe woods for budgies so in that sense it'd be perfect!

Yes, it is safe, and it's so smooth and pretty! It would make a great tree if you can find some! :) I have no idea where to find it either! :S
