Sky Blue, what sex, how old?

This is my little Sky Blue. The newest member of our family.

Can someone please tell me what they think Sky's sex is? Or maybe about how old Sky is, based on the stripes above it's Cere? Thank you!!

i saw male as it almost looks like my sonics. Also i know she is a baby so the cere may cange and i may be so wrong

Thank you for your response. How do can you tell that Sky is a baby? Just wondering. I know that when I got him or her Monday, the woman told me that because the beak still had black on it, Sky was pretty young. Is that what you went by? or was it the stripes? Thanks again.

My guess is also male. You can tell this little fellow is young because of a few things. Firstly, the stripes on the head go all the way to the cere. Secondly, he has no iris in his eye yet (that will start to appear at around 4 months). Thirdly, he still has the black markings on his beak.

Thanks you guys. He does have an iris, very very slinder and a very dark gray color, you can't really see it in the picture. I am glad you all think he is very young. Maybe I will have success in training him.

you'll notice the light iris at a young age, but it will turn whiter with time and age until it is pretty clearly noticeable.

Sky is such a young bird. You're very lucky, I'd say he's around or less than a month old. I think Sky is a boy.

Hi all, well, the black on Sky's beak is starting to fade now. He is starting to get used to us, and will often "show off" when we get close to the cage and start making a fuss about him. He will jump from one thing to another, climbing on the sides of the cage near us, he gets all excited. He is starting to chirp a little bit more, but still doesn't bob his head up and down. I can't wait for him to start doing that, I thought it was so cute when my last budgie would. I think Sky is a boy now also, if nothing changes. lol.

He looks like my Eddie, his cere is actually darker than my Eddies so hes a male I recon, and he only looks about 9-11 weeks but I could be wrong.
