what is the mood for in the journal. is it for how your budgies is acting (that would be neat) or its it for us?

Yeah, it all depends on how you're writing your journal. If you write it from your perspective, use your mood. But if you're writing it from your budgie's perspective, use whatever mood you think they're in.
