This is totally budgie unrelated but last night me and two of my mates were outside at about 10pm looking at Mars and the stars through some binoculas. I saw about three very small shooting stars which i thought was cool.
About one minute later all of us saw this huge ball of light with a trail of green and white light. It seemed quite low in the sky and it burnt out after about 5 seconds. Probably a meteor shower? Anyway it left us all gobsmacked! Never seen anything like it!
That's pretty cool. My guess is you didn't catch any pictures of it?
That's awesome! I want pics.:D
Wow, you lucky! Wish I could've seen that!

Something out here happend like that a few years ago. Everyone panicked and thought it was another plane (this was right after 9/11) But it was just a huge meteor that didnt burn up right away. They are beautiful though :D:D
Something you will never forget. Believe me.

My wife and I often sit out on our back patio and star gaze. Even with the city lights, it is fairly easy to do so. One of our favorite past times is to watch for satellites. The most I've seen, in one night in Miami, was three. Once, while visiting the McDonald Observatory on top of a mountain in West Texas, we observed SIX passing overhead within about a 30 minute period. As if that wasn't exciting enough, we, later, stopped in Marfa, Texas and observed the "Marfa Lights." (Google that one! STRANGE!!!!!) They still can't determine what causes them and they've been observed for over a hundred years.
