My Rio is the worst little destroyer of stuff. He sneaks to the back of Laker's cage & removes the paint. Laker has never done this.

So I put a lot of toys over the recked areas or wrap the wire with rope.

Here are the 2 lads having fun this morning:

Here's Laker's cage & the toys on the back. I also have Balsa wood pieces on top & a saucer of water.

This toy was a gift - it's made from corn leaves. Rio leaves the beads & the bell alone.

I made this corn husk mat 2 years ago - now it is slowly turning into floor shavings.

This piece of balsa was whole, 2 days ago - here they are working it.

Laker has done most of the work on this piece. Rio likes it as well & he likes the ribbon too.

PS - in case you noticed - the walls are changing colour - it is taking forever to paint this room - only 1/2 a wall at a time. Slowly it is turning green, from yellow. I like the new look - can hardly wait for it to be done. What a mess around here with stuff everywhere & Budgies creating a mess too. :budgie:

Adorable

my males don't chew too much mainly my females and my tiels

Pearl was in a mood yesterday there is part of a boarder (i guess they ran out because it doesnt go all the way around the room just one wall ) but Pearl was trying her best to get up on it and chew it It has pictures of different wild animals on it (bears, Lions etc)

she finally realized she could fly up to the curtain that covers the built in shelves and sit on it and chew on the boarder - so after i shooed her off there she went to the play gym and would fly up to the boarder and try to land on it - get scared and fly back to the play gym

I dont know what her issue is with it , it's been there since we moved in in December and she's just now trying to eat it/ attack the pictures of the aniamls or what ever it is she's trying to do

I have a lot of various shredding toys as well as heavier chewing toys in all my cages...my budgies all seem to be very oral. :D

nice pictures:D thats a lot of chewtoys!! my yeye and wooby loves to chew things, specially the knots on the cage because i tie their toys on the grills(i make their own toys) then the next day, when i go to them in the morning, some of my toys fell down its because they kept on chewing the knots, i think they like untying things too!:D

I think introducing natural materials can stimulate the chewing. It all started around here with the home made perch/play gym.

I was also surprised that males will chew like this. They get quite competitive I think & very excited. I think they over did it today - I think Rio has damaged his beak.

Here they are - molting & a bit miserable. See the crack across Rio's beak? It wasn't there this morning. I remember Laker having one about a year ago- but it slowly disappeared. I don't think it was as bad tho......
