my first budgie

Hi,
i bought my first budgie last week. How do i get it to love me and talk. It is a male aobut 5 months old. I have put my hand in the cage and talked to it. what can i do to get closer to it and play with me.

Just be around him a lot, get him used to your presence and if you can see if he'll sit on your finger. :) There's a few threads around with more detailed guides to training so look around and see what you can find. :D

Congratulations on getting your first budgie. They really do make wonderful pets. I will say that if you would like to tame your feathered friend, you will definitely need patience as they need to build trust with you.
