so i got fed up with how my system was running so finally did a re-install of everything. took a while to back up all my stuff (though im sure i lost some important file here or there and will regret it when i cant find it) but its all said and done. took one day to back up everything and half a day to install everything anew. though im quite satisfied with how the computer is finally running.

and on another note, finally installed photoshop cs2 on my pc. hahah. its been a while since i've had photoshop on this computer; i mainly use it on my mac laptop. but lately, i havent used the laptop as much so now that i have photoshop on my pc, i might finally get around to making myself a new sig.

so true, and it forces me to finally do a clean up of all the useless stuff i end up with on my computer and refuse to delete cause i believe it will ocme in use again sometime in the long distant future. haha

I just went through the same thing with my laptop! I did a complete system reinstall after backing up my hundreds of files! It took about 3 hours to get everything back the way I like it. But boy was it ever worth it! My laptop runs so much more smoothly!! :D

Since with all have had I computer problems. I'm glad to have my computer back after getting a new mother board installed. Lost all my files! This time I will do back up copies as I go along.

why did you lose all your files if you just needed a new MB? unless there was some other problems you weren't mentioning. its always annoying to lose files. i had a hard drive die on me 2nd year of college but luckilly i had done a backup of most of my important files so i still had some of those minus some papers and what not. its amazing how much a computer can affect our lives.. and its just a box connected to a screen...hahah.. here i am, a computer engineer of all things and i call a computer a box .. lol
