I have had my beautiful birds for awhile now. They have not made any progress pegasus used to get on my finger, and when he was outside of his cage he did steps onece. he will not do that.. and whenhe get on my finger he jumps off .. like he is sared of me or something. all he is interested in his electra.... Now electra is my little brat.. when i open the cage to bond she challenges me she will squak and open her mouth as if " go ahead stick your hand in a little more":fingerx:
I cannot stand the biting.. I let them out to stretch their wings but it is a constant battle to get them.. they bite so hard. i feel as if they hate me and they are so cute all i want to do is pet them .. and give them love but cant do that.. help

Hi Missy. In your case, since you have two birds, you would need to work with them separately (preferably you would keep the budgie you are not working with in another totally different room in the house where he or she couldn't hear the other).
One method of taming you can try is called the Catch and Release Method. In this Catch and Release Method, you would essentially have your budgie come out of its cage. Then you would catch her (you can use a lightweight cloth to basically "throw" over the budgie while he or she is on the ground). Then you would release your budgie, catch him or her, release then catch, release then catch. You would repeat this a few times.
Another method of taming is the Bribing Method. In this method, you will require a lot more patience. Hold some millet in between your fingers and let your budgie come to you. At first, you may or may not be able to get your budgie to stand on your finger to eat the millet, but that's okay. You work at your budgie's pace. The idea is that your budgie must learn to stand on your finger in order to get the millet. Once your budgie has mastered getting on your finger, you can work on getting him or her in other areas (e.g. on your arm).
Whatever you do, it is best not to have training sessions that are longer than about 10 to 15 minutes. Ideally, you would also try to have two or three training session per day. You can have more if you are able to make the time to do that.
I am not sure I have told you anything you don't already know. But my advice is to be patient (I mean VERY patient!!!!!). Many people give up too fast and wonder why they don't have a tame budgie. Not to worry though. Just assume that your budgies can be tamed and work with them to achieve that. Yes, it may mean that you have to take glory if they only end up with ONE foot on your finger for example, but that is progress!!
Keep it up Missy!
The only advice i can really give is persist and be patient. Maybe just start by spending lots of time around their cage to get the used to you?

hi miss_missy,
when i got my first budgie it took 2 to 3 weeks to sit on my finger.Your budgie does like you,he(or she)might just be tired
and they are so cute all i want to do is pet them .. and give them love but cant do that.. help
I just noticed this bit and thought i'd mention that budgies, unlike many other parrots, aren't too cuddley. Most (not all) grow out of the cuddley baby stage where they love being petted and stroked. I know that Blinkie used to race to me for a big cuddle and lots of head scratches but after a few months he decided he was way too tough and manly for cuddles. :( I'm enjoying having Ozzie as he's still at the snuggle pot baby stage. :p
