Scaly Face

My poor Baloo has scaly face bless him luckly i have cought it in its early stages an i am in the middle of treating it, i didnt know much about scaly face untill i looked up the symptoms in my budgie book i was told that stress can bring it on and we have just moved flats so i suppose that could be what has caused it.

Ive bought the oinment for his face an feet and a mite spray which i have used to clean the cage. its clearing up nicely but i am far from his best friend at the moment as he knows what it means when i get out a little cloth every other day and try to catch him, so now when i ask him to step up he will sit with me for about 2 mins and then fly back to his cage but only 4 more treatments to go then hopefully he'll start coming round to me again.

hope it clears up soon as was supposed to be getting my parrotlets this weekend but will have to leave that untill he is better.

my budgie (the green one in the picture) had scaly face but he was at deaths door:crying: but he has fully recovered:jumping1: we took him to the vets and he was given some medicine and was told to keep him warm, our budgie was the same he would get stressed having to be caught and messed with it was very upsetting but it done him the world of good. Hope your budgie gets well soon keep us posted.

Just a little update Baloo is doing much better i hadnt realised just how low he has been with his scaly face untill yesterday when i opened the windows to let the air in an the sounds of the birds outside made him start to sing like crazy made me think how i havent heard him chirp like that for ages, so hopefully he is well on the mend and feeling better about himself his scaly face is practicaly gone but im still going to use the oinment untill its completley gone but i have my baby back to normal and my boyfriend will be happy as he wont have to play veterinary nurse in the evenings when i need him on hand with the medicine and cotton buds lol :):budgie::)
