Hello all, I know I haven't been on for a while, been busy. But anyways, I know for sure this time Casper is back in breeding season  I have decided to breed her with Loverboy instead of Jasper. Yesterday she started to check out the nesting box, she kept putting her head in it, she hasn't gone completely in it yet, but I assume she will in time. Whenever Loverboy goes near the box, she chases him away, not sure if this is natural or not at this point.
But I do have one question, Casper is still kinda skiddish of me, when she lays the eggs and so that I can number them as she lays them and to be able to check on them, whenever I open the lid of the box or go near the cage she moves away from the box, if she leaves the nest will she go back to it? I don't want her to abandon the eggs. Or should I just leave everything alone? I know if the eggs are fertile I will have to check on the chicks each day to make sure they are okay, but I don't want her to abandon them.
Any advice here will be very helpful.

Well 1 of the 2 has been in the box, unsure of which, yesterday when I looked in the box, the nesting was pushed to one side, today it was spread all over. So still hoping, unsure if they mated yet, I haven't seen it, but not sure if they have done anything while I am not in the room. Will keep ya posted.

I have a pair set up for breeding too, but they haven't shown much interest in breeding yet. They have been in a cage to themselves for over a month, and show that they are bonding, but still no mating. I guess I just won't rush things, when the time is right I'm sure they will know what to do. Good luck with yours:)

Sorry to hear that Joey. They are on seperate perches at the moment, but as she goes further into season perhaps mother nature will take it's course. Exactly how far does she have to be in season before the male starts to try to do his part?

Well, Casper is housekeeping, she has thrown some of the nesting out of the box, and they are now starting to show more affection towards one another, so I am hoping that within the next week or 2 they will mate, will keep ya posted.

Keep the cage clean so you can keep an eye on the droppings if they become bigger than she is pregnant and she will spend more and more time inside the box:rolleyes: Good Luck:D Breeding is so fun I wish my pair didn't have thier problems welll...they did raise me 21 young ones teh female died and teh male flew out my window:( Take care of your pair, becuase once they start it takes nothing for them to do it again:)

I will do, I am going to clean the cage again today, I ahven't noticed any change in the size of poo, and i don't think they have bred yet, they show affection every once in a while, not as often as they would if they had mated.
But I will keep posting as they get further down the line.
