Im going to add a picture of my newly purchased budgie. I bought her (or him) yesterday. She is white and pale blue, with navy blue on her (or his) cheeks. She (or he) looks like a cloud :) I have her (or him) in a small cage for now. She (or he) has two toys, a cuttlebone. She (or he) is really nervous still, staying in the middle of the cage on a perch. Yes as you can tell, I am unsure of wether or not it is male or female. The cere is three different colours. At the top its white, around the holes, the its blue and then pink! So Im just going to assume its a female :) :budgie:

I think I learned here that the white rings around the cere holes indicated it's a girl, so that's what I'm going with. I'll let the expert budgie breeders here make that call though.

Hey Bee,

I really haven't even given it a thought about a name for your Budgie yet, but something just popped into my mind when I looked at the larger version of your Budgie's photo.

You know how you get an instant thought and then BOOM, your first thought just seems like the right answer for something????

Well, I looked at your Budgie's photo and I not only thought she was beautiful but I cracked up at her because even though you said she was still scared, she appeared to be a "POSER" for the camera.

How about calling her "POSER?"

Maybe that sounds crazy to you but you said you liked different and crazy, so there you go!!!!! :D

Bee,

I'm back again. I was thinking if you want to name your new Budgie something that resembles the clouds, you could always call her:

Fluff or Fluffy

Let us know what you decide. . .

Oh, I just love thinking up names! How about Snowflake? Or Snowy? Or Cotton? Or Cotton Candy? Or Angel? Or Princess? Or Periwinkle?

I named 2 of the 6 budgies Drummer and Cymbal because hubby use to be a drummer in a band. The other two is Bert and Ernie for the Seseeme Street gang. Cyan because hubby was a photographer and said the coloring was more cyan than blue. I named Alaska because he/she reminds me of the snowy mountain in Alaska.

So many of you have such interesting names for your Budgies.

1scifi1, I think it's neat that you chose Budgie names that were memorable to you. It's always fun to hear how names came about. Thanks for sharing.
