View Full Version : I love finding toys for my birds @ the Dollar Store

So me and my b/f went to the Dollar Store yesterday to pick up some plastic totes for the bird food, and I needed one to hold the breeding cards I have for my birds, While we were there we found a AWESOME toy for the birds.

Who said toys had to be outrageously expensive? or even Fancy?

So here is my awesome find

it is a toy storage hamper type thing for human kids' toys that hangs up with a piece of velcor, We took some string and tied it to the ceiling light then Ran the velcro strip through it velcroed it and Tied the string up good So no one gets hurt on it

and I tossed in a cat ball in one 'hole"

a Grapevine ball/foraging toy in the other "hole"
and a piece of a grapevine ball/foraging toy they had already destroyed in the other 'hole'
and a big bead in the other

Wow!! That's such a great idea. My birds would love that...thanks for the suggestion! :D I'm going to try that.

They don't seem to be too scared of new things, but then again I introduce them to alot of new things so that proberly helps out

the only one i have issues with not liking anything new is my quaker billy

Are you sure their toe nails can't get caught in it?

they were climbing all over it yesterday and this morning and Didn't get caught, they were having a ball

Great idea, this should be fun for your budgies. I'd just watch their nails don't get caught in the webbing. I'm sure you will supervise their play. Thanks for sharing with us. I love the bird room you have there.

Ohh wow! I have one of those for my toys that I had when I was younger.. hehe. Maybe Kiwi would like it...
