I don't remember what post it was but i read that when a budgie has like a stain on top of the cere it might be vitamin A Deficiency. I noticed that Kiki had these brown (kinda) spots on top of her cere and i was wondering it it might be vitamin A Deficiency. I took a few pictures...

If it is vitamin A Deficiency what should i feed her? She won't die from it will she?!
a reminder that she is a very picky eater T^T so it'll take me a while to get hre to eat something. I just want to make sure she won't get seriously sick if she doesn't eat something right away.

.... she looks smaller and fatter in these pictures o.O

The staining above a bird cere being of a brown stain can be a few things 1. Rust on a cage where the bird has scratched and it has rubbed of or a respoirty infection, ( either new or old) check to see if the nostrils are clear , no fluid or bubbles coming from them...

Vitamin A deficient birds are more prone to respiratory infections, as well as skin and liver problems. The top ranked vitamin A rich vegetables for budgies are carrots, sweet potatoes, kale, spinach, butternut squash, mangos ...

If you have any concerns consult your avain vet

it looks like it to me, looks like how Tweety's feathers was above his cere, not long after I got him

I just fed him carrots every day for about a week to a week a half and it went away, I had to trick him at first because he wouldn't touch it, but I sprinkled Seeds on it one day (because at the time he was eating seeds) then millet the next day, and the day after i crumbled up Nutra berries and sprinkled it on, and made sure i got all the carrots covered in it really well so that way with every bite of the "topping" he was getting carrot too

you can use all 3 i did it on occasions or if she just likes one or 2 things than use that. It'll no doubt take her a while to eat the carrots or other veggies but I no longer have to "mask" my veggies my birds dig in before I even get the food in thier bowls

My Pistachio had that about 3 weeks ago. I took him to my avian vet. He gave me a vitamin supplement which I sprinkle on my budgies veggies. He told me that if it doesn't go away in a few weeks then he can give Pistachio a vitamin shot.

Luckily Pistachio is fine now. :)
