I was curious what makes up your budgies diet? I have started Tiki off with a mult-vitamin enriched seed, with some fresh fruits and veggies but have also incorporated Avi-cakes which is a pellet/seed meal. From what I have read pellets are the best option for parakeets. Do you concur?:)

I like a mix of seeds and pellets. :) Everyday Blinkie gets 2 tsp quality seed mix, 1/2 tsp egg & biscuit mix, and 1/2 tsp pellets. Then at least every two days but usually everyday he also gets some sort of veggie (brocolli, spinach, snowpea sprouts).

Don't forget the CELERY! Budgies love cerery leaves, try them out and lets hear how it goes!

They do love them but they actually have nearly no nutritional value so you'd be ALOT better off feeding a dark leafy veggie like spinach or bok choy. :)

Yeah I know. If you have already got a budgie on a good diet then its just a treat.

Billy and Lily: YUM YUM! Why can't we have it every day?

Me: Cause you'll get fat!:p Joking!

Just persist. :) I know that sounds like poor advice but if you keep trying and change the way you offer the food eventually they're sure to have a nibble.
