:)You know those natural perches they sell at Petsmart from 4 to 10 bucks. Well I make my own using exactly the same hardware they use except I choose what kind of wood and shape I want to use.For each branch you have to have a #10-24 wing nut, #10-24x1-1/2 wood hanger bolt(which is the ***** without head), and two washers. Home Depot sells the hanger bolts and wing nuts 4 per pack and you'll spend about 4 bucks with the washers. If you're wondering how you ***** the hanger bolt into the branch( which I did:S )You actually use the wing nut. You push the hanger bolt into the branch a little bit and then use the wing nut to ***** the rest in. When your branches get worn out you can actually reuse the hardware. It probably saves alot of money if you have a big cage and want adjustable perches. Have fun:D

What a great idea! My husband cut a few branches from a crab apple tree in our yard. He then went to Home Depot and purchased the hardware that Kasia listed in the post above. Our budgie and our daughter's budgie now have a few natural perches available in their cages. I didn't remove the outside bark, but did bake the perches in the oven as Pippin's Mom mentioned in another post on homemade perches. Nonny was a bit leary at first, but he managed to settle on one of them for his night's perching spot.
