:budgie: my mums friend had a bird called lucky and she was round here for quite a whille and then went home and died a short time later and her owner gave the cage to me for missy so now missy has the cage and justs sits on her swing is that a problem or is she ok to do that.:S

Yea, with most budgies new things just take time. Im sure your budgie will love it after a few days. Have fun with your birds!

It should be fine in a few days,Its just not used to its surroundings and the swing is the highest spot in the cage right?

i was wondering the same thing. sometimes people dont think of a thing like that.

i would say your bird just needs to get used to the new home, give it a week at the most, and he should be fine.

Don't worry - that's normal behaivior! I'm sure you did, but you should clean/disinfect the cage thoroughly before putting the new bird in like Amy said :D
