Does any one on TB have plans for an indoor aviary that i can use ? Im really bad at drawing blueprints. Also, when i get the hardware cloth (is it safe?) how should i treat it for the fids? If you have an outdoor, i can still look at those too for inspiration... thanks

I just looked at a thread. Green Feathers posted a picture of his indoor aviary. It looks really good. Here is the link http://www.talkbudgies.com/showthread.php?t=19887

oh, I love your new siggy. yes I saw that. I am looking to build a larger floor to ceiling aviary though. the only aviaries i can find on google are for finches and canaries- they aren't really what im looking for. thank you though.

I have also looked online for idea for Aviary and there are not much. If you know how big you want it to be and know where it is going to go.
Then you are half way there.
When I build mine, I was really tired of the seed and feathers all over.

How many birds will be in your aviary?

I can probably draw plans out for you. I just need to know how big you would like the aviary. It will be heavy. So it needs to side on the floor. If it is going to be tall. And you don't have to use glass you can use plexiglass. It just scratches easy, but easier to work with.

Let me know on what will work for you.

I will take measurements of where i want it when my brother is away tonight. (im getting his room because he's going to OU) I was thinking about getting google sketch up so i could make 3-d modles when i need to, but its my dads computer so i have to get him to agree before i can put anything on the computer. I want at least 5 pairs, plus some, so it will be a big aviary. I didn't plan on using glass or plexi glass, I was just going to use hardware cloth and vacuum everyday. Also, i want a large walk in door. i was going to put a safety catch on too. BUT, im horrible at drawing plans...

There is a special type of hardware cloth thats been somehow chemicly altered and doesnt need to be washed down with the vinegar... I am having a major brain fart and cant remember the name of it right now.... maybe someone else can, if not hopefully i'll remember soon!

If you plan to paint the cage then look at my new thread on bird safe paints: http://www.talkbudgies.com/showthread.php?t=20381

i want to get a new cage for my zoe but all the cages i really like are like a couple hundred dollars,i also have not really found anything size wise that i like ,i have read that they prefer side to side verses up and down cages so heres my question would it be cheaper for my husband to just build her one? not a super large cage maybe like 36 long or so,not quite sure what the best height is though, any help would be welcomed i would like for him to get started asap:S
