I am not that bright on training none lieks my way,but anyways if you have been trying to train teh budgie for 1 year and nothing...It might not train that well?
Have a look around for webites about budgie taming, or go to your libruary and hire a book about them.
I really hope you have some progress soon. Good Luck to you and Maggie!

look at my super long post in 'the magic top' under budgie training. someone asked about training and i wrote a few methods. feel free to ask more questions. i might have rambled.. a lot haha
Sometimes keets are not ment to be finger tamed... I have a few that no matter how hard I tried, They just don't like people. I even have 2 keets that I hand raised and they don't like people... Why I will never know... I could see if they where adused or something. But has soon as they learned to eat on thier own... They were all set with dealing me or anyone else...
All Budgies are different hun, you have to give it time. I know you h ave been doing it for a long time, but really, you just need to give it more. Do differnet thing, try different methods, try all kinds of things if you have to. Look around about training and such. I can only tell you how so much, for my budgies tamed realy easy, only a week or so after i first got them, they tamed. All i can do is suggest that you just keep trying..... Dont give up hope dearrie, dont give up on her.

i would say, if you've been trying for that long, with no progress, you just have a bird that doesnt want to be finger tamed. it happens, so dont be upset.

I agree with everything that has been said above. I think maybe she just is a rebellious bird :D
Maybe wing clipping will help? But that is a decision of you alone.
And please dont use so many exclamation marks. It's kind of annoying, and it was stated in the forum rules not to do that. :) Just wanted to let you know so you didnt get in trouble

I'm a firm believer that a budgie will choose to be tame or not, my two are completely different, Mitsi is very tame, even talks, Scooby on the other hand, you can't trust for a second!
But i have learnt to love n respect her wild streak, the best advice i can give is what will be will be she maybe one of those budgies whos always destined to keep her wild streak :)

If any one could say that they had a rough time it could be anyone of us who have tried afor years. I tamed my little guy within a couple years. But I did it with all his mirrors and bells and people tried to tell me to take them out and to tame that way. I never tried to take out any of his mirrors and bells. I suppose that I figured that they were his parity and that I had no right. TO tell you the truth I bet all odds with my little guy, he was rebilous and he some tiems still bites me but I Try different things that sometimes work. AND I have found good info on taming budgies just by google.com and it helped alot. I kind of did my own thing. IT will happen when it happens, he/she maybe stubborn and don't want to be touched by humans I had one Budgie she was my girl but she didn't like me to touch her at all. I hope you have good luck taming. and just be confident in your budgie

My 5mth ol budgie Eddie was finger tamed after only a week but he does still go crazy and bites me like hell, hes like a possessed bird sometimes he just flys at you and bites but the rest of the time hes lovely. All birds are different and its most likely in his genetics..try again feeding him from hand and talk to him telling him how hes a good boy that always works with my Eddie. I have since got a baby budgie who is around 12 weeks and he is really hard to tame..he doesnt bite me or anything but he will not step up on my finger no matter how hard i try..he does when i use my fingers but he soon jumps off and flys away. I shouldn't let him out of his cage really cause hes hard to get back in at the min i am using a perch to put him back in, think i will have to use another room so his cage isn't near Eddies to work on him. hope you find some luck with your budgie.
