Cloud and Dollar

cloud and dollar are finally in breeding condition. cloud's droppings are larger and she has been exploring the nest box, so im expecting eggs soon. :)

while i was at a youth convention over the weekend, my mom put dyed eaaster paper grass in the nest box and dyed the momma (albino) green :eek: while i was holding her, trying to wipe the green off with a damp cloth, she dropped her first egg and it craked on the floor :( I will try to get a picture of the now pastel green momma bird. Oh, um, I have a rare mutation for the next 6 months :D

Doesn't it feel like it takes them for ever to get in condition but then once they're in its like "man is she ever going to go out" or "man that cere looks like it should hurt really bad"

The "rare mutation" you got one too huh . I have a Dominate blue Pied that is Also Pink LOL Tweety Loves to stand on his 2 n 1 cuttle bone and eat on it or just stand on it and chatter to the other birds. and it's stained his tail ,face and part of his belly a light pink and when i was cleaning the nest box the other day and looked through the whole from the "inside' of the box i told my b/f Look he's even got the nest hole pink from going in and out

We put a dish of water in the cage the other day and it didn't take him long to turn it a pastel pink color LOL it's finally starting to come off though Lots of showers LOL

but then the other night I went to check on the babies - tapped on the box like always, mamma went right out I had the lid lifted a little bit to see in so i knew when mom and dad were both out, Well normally once Jasmine is out Tweety goes right behind her, well he fooled me and came out the nest box and was flying around and landed in the other birds bath dish that sits on top of the cages So when i caught him and put him back in the cage , Where did he go as soon as he was back in the cage?? - If you guessed on top of his pink and white cuttle bone you were right - A very wet belly + a pink cuttle bone = more of a pink bird LOL

thanks. they are both only about a year and a half old, not to mention they are bonded- just not proven. this is thier first clutch. It IS my moms fault that her first egg got broke though.

What a pity about the first egg! :(
At least there should be many more to come! :D
Maybe you shouldn't handle her untill she has finished raising her clutch. You don't want another egg to fall.

second egg has arived! :D it looks to be healthy so in a week or so i will candle it. mama bird (cloud) has been sitting on it. I think she laid it around 4:30 or so.:)

egg number three has arrived, a little late but it is a healthy pink color. cloud is sitting on em constantly so i know they are warm.

they aren't old enough to candle yet... I will candle em monday. I hope they are fertile, dollar keeps goin into the box and sits on the eggs too.

thanks. I have been keeping updates in my breeder's database (birdsevolutionpro) at least 5 times a day... if not more :p. I have also decided to candle once a day now so i can keep the eggs marked- forgot to mark the eggs when they were layed, but i have the dates they were laid and im going in correspondance to that :)
