Hello

Just wanted to introduce myself as I just brought home my new budgie......she is almost totally yellow and i've named her saffron......I had the opportunity to handle her a few times before bringing her home and she did quite well.......tonite she is just settling in and has just begun to eat (yeah!)......I'm hoping to continue with her handling within the next couple of days and hoping she becomes as comfortable as my past budgie and cockatiels! Once she is out and about I'll get some good pics so that I can post them like a proud new mom!!:budgie:

Welcome to the Talk Budgies forum Saffron! I am so happy you have decided to get yourself a budgie! They are great pets as I am sure you already know given your previous experience with one. How long ago did you have your budgie and your cockatiels?

I'm also happy to hear that your new little budgie seems to be settling in nicely. It's great when they start eating shortly after their arrival in their new home as that is a sure sign they are becoming more at ease in their new surroundings.

Be sure to post lots of pictures of your budgie! We'd love to see them! Again, welcome and I hope you stick around since there's quite a bit of good information and chit-chat that goes on here! Don't be shy to post new questions either.

Thanks everyone.....it's been a few years since i've had my birds...but i've had canaries, budgies, cockatiels and lovebirds for many years.......today is Saffron's first full day at home and she is doing very very well.......she came out of her cage today all on her own and is doing very well at stepping up onto my hand.......I think i'm gonna have my hands full tho cuz she loves to investigate everywhere!!! I'm so happy as she has not even tried to bite.....she seems very content to relax on top of her cage, which is where i took some pics of her ......I will try to add them here and hope that you can see my baby!

Go to our Budgie Gallery (link up top), click the upload link, and add your photos. Make sure they're within the 500 KB limit. If you need resizing, just ask and someone here will help you out with that.

sorry everyone.....my computer has been down for a few days.....saffron is mostly yellow with green on her belly and a little on her tail with faint black spots on her wings
