sorry for the lack of pics!

equipment list:

metrexmetre board of marine-ply
small piece of mesh about 7x13"
leather strip
a small bolt (male and female part)
2 small hinges
strips of ruber about an inch wide
staples
bandsaw
drill
screws to fit hinge and bolt

1. on the board of ply mark 4 rectangles size 8x12" and 2 squares 8x8"
2. on one of the rectangles mark a small rectangle size 4x6" to house the mesh. cut the pieces out
3. staple three of the rectangles that have not got the small rectangle in it togaether to form a 'U' shape and then add the square pieces to each side
4. next screws the female part of the bolt onto one side of the squares and then
screws the male part to the side of the door so the bolt is at the side of the box
5. now staple the mesh into the insert leaving an inch on each side. then glue rubber strips to the excess around the inside of the insert so it is safe. screws the hings to the door at the top and at the bottom and then screws the other side of the hinge to the edge of the box
6. drill holes in the top panel of the box and tie a knot in one side of the leather and thread it through the hole thread the otherside through the other hole and add a knot. alternatively you can glue the offcuts of the rubber strips onto the box to hold the strap in place
