Hi everyone! I got my second budgie, Phinneas, about 6 weeks ago. He has brought me so much joy already! He is still very young, probably about 3 months. I owned one budgie before. His name was Squirt and he died about 7 years ago at age 5. He was wonderful pet and I still miss him! I stumbled across this forum and it seems like a great community. I'm glad I found somewhere to ask questions about Phinny.
Phinny is adorable! He loves his swing, chewing EVERYTHING, eating budgie greens, and rock music. When I first got him, I played classical music for him all the time because I thought it would be soothing. However, he never made any noise until I played a Ben Folds song for him. He went crazy! Ever since, I don't bore him with classical.

Welcome to Talk Budgies Vivalis! We are always happy to have new members join; the more the merrier! Phinneas sounds like a real superstar budgie, especially with his tastes in rock music. It's great too that he is already into eating budgie greens since some little budgies won't go near the stuff for a while. Keep up the great work with you new fellow!

I am sorry to hear about Squirt. I know what it's like to lose a budgie. Apollo was my little sweetie and he died about a year ago; I miss him to pieces as I am sure you miss Squirt.
