I'm currently reading, and enjoying, THE CITY OF FALLING ANGELS. Venice is one of my favorite cities in the world and I love reading anything about it. This book is a little to "gossipy" but still interesting. By the same author as MIDNIGHT IN THE GARDEN OF GOOD AND EVIL.

I am reading Losing A Life: A Daughters Memoir of Caregiving by Nancy Gerber. She is not that well known but you can find out about her at http://www.nancygerber.net. She is a great author. Mostly for adults I guess but I seem to like it so . . . . Thats what I am reading. :)

Whats it about? And how big is it?

Budgie_Birthday

It is not very big at all. Its not like a kiddy book but its not as big as the first Harry Potter book either. It is about how the author's dad had a stoke and how she had to take care of him, what she did, ad how his personality changed. Its very good actually. I'd recomend it to anyone who can read. :)

I'm reading James Patterson's "Mary, Mary". It's excellent. I read a lot. In the past few weeks I've read Patricia Cornwell's "Predator" and "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova. Both were terrific. I really like mysteries over everything else. Sometimes I like Biography.

I've read the first 3 books in the series of Flambards. It's about a 12 year old orphan girl, called Christina, who has to go and live with her uncle, in a house/farm called Flambards. They like hunting and she learns to ride and go hunting with them.
She LOVES horses and gets 2 of her own.

She falls in love with Will one of her cousins and runs away with him. He doesn't like hunting and finds a job flying aeroplanes (Which he loves to do) and he gets killed in WW1.

Christina, in the hope of finding somewhere to live, goes back to Flambards to find it run down and overgrown, with only 1 horse and the 2 servants left. With her Uncle, Will dead and her other cousin Mark missing, she takes charge, buying up horses and looking for willing workers.

Then she finds she's pregnant and has a baby girl called Isobel.
She goes and finds Marks ex-wife and she gives her a child who loves horses and likes to be called Tizzy.

Tizzy mentions ****, and old groom and memoires come flooding back to Christina. She goes and finds him and he comes and lives at Flambards.

Then a familiar face appears at the door, Mark! Mark proposes to her but she refuses, she and **** are in love.....

Dorathy, one of Christina's friends appears, she gets married to Mark but what will happen to Christina and ****...

That's as far as I have read up to! I want to read the next book!!! There are 7 books in the series, 3 of which I have read:

Flambards, (R)
Edge of the cloud, (R)
Flambards in summer, (R)
Flambards Divided,
A pattern of roses,
A midsummer night's death,
Prove yourself a hero.

These are excellent books all written by K.M Peyton.

(R) = I've read.
