Our birdie family have their first play gym!

Hi all :) Hope you are all keeping well

Nathan and I are proud to show you our first Play Gym - a joint effort.

We are quite impressed with the outcome! Though the photo's are of the big bird's on it, my guys do get on there as well, everything is just right for all of them to be able to use without a problem :p

Let me know what you guys think, later on I might try get some pictures of my little babies on it, oh and I have additions to my budgie family too :D I will post them in the proper spot

Oh I just realised that on the second photo you can JUST see Speedy on the back perch, lil cutie she is :D She is chewing the perch hehehe

That is awesome! I bet they love it. :)

You have a Galah! How old is he/she? How good are they as pets? My friend has recently started doing research on them as a possible future pet. I would love to get the opinion off someone who actually owns one of them.

hehehe that's Sarge, he is a complete and utter dude :cool:

We have had him a little over a month, he is a pampered little birdy, the light in Nathan's life some might say.

Funny story with him actually, I had decided spur of the moment to go to the pet store and on this particular day whilst i was there this young guy came in with a Galah (Sarge) and Nathan always said that he wanted a Galah (he had one when he was a kid, I inherited one when I was a kid, his Mum has one now etc etc) So I hung around to find out if this guy was going to sell the Galah to the pet store, after that had gone through I asked how much, how old etc you know the normal stuff, he was hand raised and about 13 week's old and he is a complete sook :p
He loves just sitting with you and getting scratched, if he could do it all day he would.
He is an absolute character, goes ballistic when we get home screeching and calling and making noises, busts his toys in no time flat and loves everyone that comes near him.
I think he is great, definitely Nathan's favourite - though the other day he did express his urge to 'squeeze' Speedy because she is so cute hehehe
A bit too noisey at time's but that passes, definitely rewarding - same as the budgies ;)
I would recommend a hand reared baby, it will be more expensive but we have had nothing but joy with Sarge :happy4:

Here is a better picture of the play gym, there are two swings on there made from natural wood, one is for the tiel's/galah the smaller one down the bottom is for the budgie's.

The ladder is made from dowel and various types and textures of rope, the budgie's are SO cute climbing up it :D

Up the top are two coop cups with seed and water, again on a natural branch, various toys and ladders, bell's etc throughout, though as Nathan said it will never be done, we will always be adding to it and changing thing's :budgie::budge:
