I only happened across this little invention by accident....

I had put up a cuttlebone using a plastic zip tie and from the outside of the cage the extra tie hung out and I didn't cut if off.

Well, Galaxy discovered it and thought "hey I bet I could perch on that" and she was right. She loved it as it bounced her up and down a bit. So now I have put two more up by just zipping them onto the cage bars.

Since then I have seen online that they sell bouncy perches. This is the one you can buy http://www.birdsupplynh.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1264

That would be neat :)

And a side note, do they play on the rodent wheel?

I was wondering that myself...

Sounds like a great idea :)

One things that I've noticed is that the perch isn't very thick for a budgie's feet.

Yeah, it would be something they would not really perch on that is why I have it on the outside of the cage....they just play around on it.....

I wonder if there is a way to stick something on it to make it thicker......

Maybe you could attach a craft stick somehow.

Actually I have a wooden perch I can cut it down to size and maybe tie it on with hemp string....I'll have to try it and see if it is light enough to still stay up and not droop down too much......

If the wooden perch is too heavy I can try a craft stick cuz that should be lighter...thanx!
