We've had mickey and minnie since Nov. 07 and they've been caged up since the day i got them to breed, Well they did that and they gave me Gizmo (as most of you knwo lol)
last night while we were in the bird room and the 3 were out and about playing and visiting all the other birds
I noticed Mickey's yellow doesn't stop at his face, it goes down through the bars on the back of his head and through his wings
Like if he had Normal wing markings they'd be black out lined in white
his are black outlined in Yellow (not cinnoman actuall yellow it matches his face)
Now Minnie isn't like this her wings are 'normal' Black outlined in white but she does have several yellow feathers on her tail The shorter ones closer to thier bums are more yellow then the normal color & they are both Yellow Face Violets
I will have to attempt to get pictures of his wings/ back of his head or see if i can find a pic of one online w/ at least the same wing markings
but in the meantime all you Mutation experts -- can ya help me out?
is he still considered to have normal markings even know they're not actually'normal' LOL

that happens with the yellowface type 2.. the yellow bleeds into the body/wings/tail feathers at different degrees depending on the individual bird.

I love them too, our first bird was a yellow faced cinnamon, with pale blue (I'm guessing a light shade of violet) body.
I find all this mutation business a bit confusing but I'm learning slowly from posts on here.

I got one just like that, it looks like she's got a V neck t shirt on it comes down from her neck toward her belly in a V that part is a bluish color then under that down to her legs (where the feathers stop) is a light purple (never shows up on the camera  ) and on back side between her wings going down to her tail is like a smokey grey blue color, her one pure colored tail feather matches that smokey grey blue color, Then the short feathers from on thier back side in the center of every one it's yellow the tips (top and bottoms) are the same smokey grey blue color oo and she has the prettiest light purple cheek patches :o and cinnoman wings
Here's a couple pics of her (but keep in mind her purple doesn't show up)

You can see her tail a little better in this one

I'll have to attempt to get some of the her little feathers around her backside, all the pictures i had the flash went off and made it more of a huge white light instead of yellow feathers LOL
My camera doesn't show the correct colors but I explained them as well as i can LOL

I hate to say it by a violet should show up. Do you have an Ott light? Or put the cage in daylight?

I've got a Violet and she always looks violet when I take a picture...

it's my camera it doesn't show the correct colors, Tweety who is a normal blue pied comes out in the pics looking sky blue but when you look at him in person he looks like this color blue and my sky blue budgie comes out much brighter then what he actually is The best way to see Jasmine's violet is like when she's climbing on the cage and all her feathers are spread out.
I don't know what a OTT light is, but the birds room has a huge picture window plus 2 smaller windows one on each wall, so I use natrual light to take my pictures unless it's dark outside or getting dark

She looks and sounds from your description very much like Bert, its a ovely colouring. I have problems getting feathers to look their real colour in pictures too!

violet doesn't always show up in photographs depending on lighting and camera used. It has to do with the way the violet reflects in the feather, etc... but some lighting and cameras don't show true with violets. The only ones that I've found mostly show violet coloring in photographs are ones with dilution (cinnamon, greywing, dilute, clearwing, etc).

I have them in every room of my house too, except my living room ( my cieling fan takes a candleabra base bulb and i haven't found those yet)
I see thier real color when I'm looking @ them BUT my camera isn't the greatest so it doesn't take true colors ,
