How old are your birds again? (Sorry, I can't remember off-hand).

What is your intention with your birds? Do you really want them to mate? If not, then I would suggest keeping them in separate cages (but you can place the two cages side-by-side). Also, take out the nest box as that encourages nesting instincts to become prominent and blossom.

The fact that they are together will likely affect the degree to which they are tame. Your best bet for having tame budgies would be to keep them separate from each other. When you are training them to bond with you, do it one-on-one while the other budgie is elsewhere in the house.

I hope this helps.

I want to breed but they are to young right now... i just saw him mounting her so i was not for sure what to do... i think i will seperate them .. do yo think that i should... for 30 days like bea is doing?

Do not add a nesting box until they are well and truly over a year old, there would never be any reason that a pair of budgies would NEED a nest box. I'd suggest that you remove the nest box and then separate them for a while so you can bond with them. :)

Yep, Ozzie and Blinkie can hear each other from the opposite ends of the house. They like chatting to each other but they still behave good for me. :)
