Well today I took out Tifa [my budgie] to dump out the bird bath i put in and to take it out [ she wasnt using it except for a toilet :( ] I figured I'd leave her out for a while before I changed the bath, and I kept trying to get her to stay on my finger but, she was still afraid. Then I put the cage up higher than her [on the hanging cage holder thing] so she couldnt see it and then i got her on my finger for a couple seconds, Then I remembered someones post saying how they like to be higher and how it calms them so I stood up and then she started to like that. So after I stood up I sat back down and worked on having her move from one finger to the other saying "step up" after doing this for a while I put her on my shoulder and she LOVED IT she didn't want to get back down so i kept her on for a while then took her off and put her back in her cage so i could dump out the bath. After I did this I let her out some more and put her on my shoulder for a while then worked on the "step-up" and she seemed much much calmer than before. We did the step up for about 5 minutes and then she figured it out pretty well and she almost steps up on commands [now she does it as soon as I touch her stomach !!!] this was a good training day, I'm gunna take her out again later and take a picture of her on my shoulder.
