Hello, I have a very small apartment and have this large flight cage (http://www.windycityparrot.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=19302242001) now. But what I want to do is get a double A&E cage setup similar to my existing cage so that I can get more birds in the same space that I am using now. So what do you think of the double cage setup? Can birds live below happily you think? They may not get as much light.
Yes the cage is in the living room and I have no choice in the matter. It's the only place I can keep them. How can I bird proof the living room and make it more bird friendly? Where do y'all keep your birds in your house or apartment?
Thanks in advance. :)

I also keep them in the living room.. They enjoy watching tv with us :).. Make sure there isnt any disturbance at night in the living room so they can sleep. I keep mine in a house

Hi Mindy!
I don't care for the cage on the bottom like that (just a personal preference), but other than that it looks like a fine cage. I thought I saw a cage some where on line similar to the one you're considering, but the double cages were side by side rather than top and bottom. I like that much better.:)
We have a very open floor plan with quite a bit of space so Pippin & Mikko are in a nook in the dining room and Baby Linnie is in the living room. I like having them where all the action and people are.

I try not to use the living room after they go to bed. But when I do it is dark no lights, and I wear wireless headphones connected to the TV! My budgies rule what can I say! lol The little stinkers! :D

What is it specifically that you don't like about the cage? I like this one because it saves me space. I just don't have the room for the wider cage that you mentioned.

Like I said its just a personal preference. I don't like the bottom cage being so low to the ground. I like my cages up higher. That's the only thing I don't care for about it. Other than that its great.:)If you like it and it works for you then that's what's important.

I worried about the same thing, about the bottom cage being so low. But considering that I have problems with space this cage setup is ideal. Well, good thing I don't have cats! ;)

If it works best for your circumstances, go for it. I know my birds wouldn't like being so close to the ground, but they're almost four years old and very set in their ways. Maybe if you had birds that were in a cage that low from the beginning, it would be better. Especially if they get lots of outside-the-cage time.

ETA is one week or thereabouts! I want to separate them and spend some one on one time with them before getting another. I am joining a local budgie club and want to find a good breeder so I will take my time.
I've decided again that I will not get a linnie. I keep changing my mind! I really love them but three budgies will be good for now. Perhaps later! :)
