Well I realize this is day 1 but, when I try to give her millet I shake [I shake most of the time for some reason I can't really control it] and when I shake the millet shakes and it scares the crap out of her lol any ideas?

You shake the millet for her to come!I would be scared to..lol...im joking...um just leave it stil close to her because in the wild seeds dont shake for them actually they dont go near anything that moves in the wild except for water and windy tree limbs. She will get used to your hand really fast if you just leave teh millet there

Just support your elbow with your other hand. That will help you control the shaking. (I'm a shaker too, when I drink coffee.)

because they love to eat for such long periods (at least as far as my arm being held in the air is concerned) i generally rest it on a perch nearby or if possible, anything else that is close to the cage. what may help is to tie the millet to your finger or something if the physical action of holding the millet with your fingers is what causes your hand to shake. im not sure as to whether that will help, but if you don't have to use as much muscles in your hand, it may help your stability overall. good luck and don't worry; eventually your budgie will get use to the shake if nothing else. they scare easilly but if you show them you mean no harm, they generally will understand that after some time with you.

i freaked jay out earlier today cause i had to trim his nails. only been with me for about a week and the bonding has been going well, but he was terrified by being held and having his nails trimmed. but he was tripping up on my carpet a lot cause of the length of his nails and that was a bit dangerous so i had no choice really. after it was all said and done, he was happy to be back in his cage and happy to eat a rewarding millet from my hands despite the scare and trama. of course, he refused to stay on my finger for a while to spite me after i trimmed his nails, but in a few hours, he was back to his old self again. hahaha. so don't worry about scaring them, even im not perfectly still when i feed millet. eventually, he'll learn its nothing to be afraid of.

Yes, just try resting your hand or forearm on something stable. That should help.
