Cowboy...color & sex?

Can I get some opinions on color and sex...Cowboy was born/hatched September 2007...

Cowboy looks to be a Blue pied Spangle

not sure on the gender though

I say this because tehr elooks to be some
color but around the nostrils are very white.
Maybe its the pic though.

i have that same problem my ricky has a light blue cere under the brown cere with no white circle

I was very unsure on this one too, LOL! It is not the photo there is definatly lots of white around the nostrils, but with definate bluish tint on the cere, so I am leaning towards female!

This is a female for sure. :) Mauve recessive pied spangle greywing. I wasn't sure about the spangle part until I found her other pics... I believe she's a spangle as well.

I would say that cowboy should be called cowgirl, she is a mauve dominant pied spangle, and she is stunning to by the way.

My son is quite upset when I told him Cowboy was a girl, he is only 3 1/2 years old so he just doesn't understand that he can't just decide to make the bird a boy or girl. He has been going back a forth between Cloud and Cowboy, so we might have to stick with Cloud, which goes really good with our other birds name, Galaxy.

Wow I might be getting better at guessing color than I thought, I decided that she is mauve gray/clear wing recessive pied! I couldn't really figure out the difference in gray and clear wing. I am not sure what spangle is either...

Spangle is a reversal od the edging on the wing pattern. Instead of being black with white edging, it's white with black edging :D. Spangle is a gorgeous mutation.

Cowboy is a greywing. Greywing is when the budgie has grey wing markings and diluted body color. Clearwing is when the budgie has VERY light grey wing markings but bright color :)
