checking out the nesting box

well if i put mika on the nesting box perch then she will look into it and then stay up there for a while.......they sound like they are regurigaiting or kissing, or hitting beaks>>>>well i got to go but if anyone can help me encourage breeding more than plz

i have
-nesting box
-cuttlebonne and iodine
-at most 14 hours daylight each day


any thing else??????

Have no clue I am having the same problem with my pair...my previous pair I just bought 2 budgies from a petsore gave them a nestbox and it turned out they were male and female and they bred after 3 years!Now I wish I could do that agai
years but I am budgie crazy!

All you can do is wait... Nothing else really, sometimes having two pairs of keets help because then it is like a competition. But then again that might only work with pigeons. Yeah I breed pigeons too! LOL

well now i rearranged the whole cage,which is good because i only put 1 perch that is long in front of the nesting box in, so she will go on the perch and start checking it out hopefully........they have a lot more things to perch on though.......
Tiki is the one that WANTS to mate but i have a question...........do females feel frisky or something when they shake off their tales?????:budgie:

That's a cute question about feeling frisky when shaking their tails. I think that is just more of a stress relief behaviour. On the other hand, if you saw your budgie rubbing herself on her perches or food cups, now THAT would be feeling frisky. My budgie Skyla does that sometimes.....then I take one look at her vent area and it's a bit swollen and pink because she is wanting to mate!!! :rolleyes:

oh...well the thing is i think she doesnt want to mate but i will give them more time....her cere was white and now is getting into like a tanish creamish color

well i got her used to the nestbox by putting her in it, and now i let her perch on my finger and brought her by the hole and she junped in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:p

The girls cere will get tannish and crusty looking when they are ready. You can't fool mother nature....let them take their time....no sense trying to force things.

well now since i put something on the nesting box....Tiki is being nicer to Mika and they started kissing a few times today........this is progress so i am happy!!!
