my birds are trying to mate. The boy is trying to mate her but she is not going for it. so... i put a nesting box just in case but it seems to be not enterst of theirs. so what with the 25 days till blinkie and ozzy meet Bea?
Aren't your budgies too young to breed? Even if they are mating that's no reason to add a nest box, that's just encouraging them.
Off Topic: the 25 days is when Ozzie (new budgie) finishes quarantine and will meet Lord Blinkie. ;)

whats quartines or what not?
When you get a new budgie you're supposed to keep them in a separate cage in a different room to any other budgies you may have. Quarantine lasts 30 days min and it's important so you can monitor the newbie for any illnesses and if you're planning to tame it (as i am) then it's a great opportunity to work with it one on one before introducing it to other birds.

Hi, I have a pair of budgies who have mated and the female lays them in the bottom of the cage and I placed them in the breeding box with a spoon as to not touch the egg. I checked on the eggs the next day and she had ate all the eggs. She will not lay her eggs in the box and when we try to put them in with her she destroys all the eggs. Any help would be greatly appreciated

you posted on a very old thread - it would be best to make a new topic for your question so it would be answered
