So anyway, I am building my birds an aviary this summer (no one is going to live year round in it, it is just for the summer) and I was wondering...maybe I could build a flight-cage inside?

I thought that maybe I'ld have some stainless steel wire from the aviary left over, and I could build a big flight cage in my bedroom, and keep some budgies in it. :)

But I was also wondering, I already have a Senegal Parrot and a Conure in my bedroom, and even though they aren't high dust producers, would a flight cage of budgies make too much dust, dander etc., and be bad for me? I have no allergies or anything, I was just wondering. Would I need to buy an air-filter?

Also, I was wondering about the base of the cage. I saw some cages for Guinea Pigs online (called...C&C Cages or something) and the bases look like I could make one for a bird cage. What do you link? I'll look the website up again and show you the bases. It might be hard to clean, what with no tray, but still. :D

So yeah.:) Any tips would be appriciated!

Here is the website:

You can look at the plastic bases to the cages. Would this be ok?

I'm not quite sure, but I was also thinking of building my budgies a flight cage, so I'm glad you brought this up! :)

A flight cage would be a great idea!
