I have just got a breeding cage for chrissy and I have just set it up outside.They are now in it and I have made a nesting material. Heres are some picts of the previous clutch and them in the Breed. Cage:

oh yeah soz when i change my batterys i need to reset date and i change my batterys often and i cant be stuffed changing the date all the times lol

I went out to put a sheet on the cage to increase night hours( it apparently feels more private for them) and Macadamia was in the box!! for being in there less then 24 hours thats pretty good!! shes shifted around all the leaves and straw I made and ozzie sat on that little perch outside the box until she tryed to get out. she then ran inside again and ozzie resumed his position as gaurd and for a good min and half was inside!! he then went back to his other position and started feeding her through the hole!!!:D :D :D :D im so excited as this afternoon the wouldnt even sit on the same perch with sqauking and attacking the other bird.I was begging to think of swapping them for Miss and Wizz lol. Hope eggs come in the next couple of wks. i forgot the gestation period???? would someone be kind enough to remind me lol

great news. All the leaves have been chewed up and she making her nest and in there ALL the time.Featheers are starting to appear along with her downy stuff(fluffy feathers) she enjoys being n the box will ozzie is in there but still loves him when hes outside. picts comin soon

thanks. Got some good news. Not about this pair but..................................I saw my other pair in the avairy( Wizz and Misscheif) mating about 5 times in less the 10 mins!!!! I wonder which pair will have the first eggs????

ok well last night when i put my pair in the breeding cage to bed( Macadamia and Ozzie) i checked to see if there was an egg. you open the box from the outside of the cage( and the cage is kept outsdie) i always tap to warn her im going to look so she doesnt get scred and fly out. normally she just hops out after i tap but this 1 time she didnt. so i opend it a crack and she was sitting in there and quickly got up and rushed toward me and started tryping to bite me and escape through the crack. it was open about this much:

only enough to get her beak out. this is highly unusaul as she normally is scared of me as she lived at the bottom of a garden in a avairy for the first 2-3 yrs of her life , only seeing humans when the came to feed her. so this morning i went and tryed again and this time she was out( ozzie was sitting on the perch outside but i though he was inside) so i tapped for ozzie to get out( didnt realize he WAS ou lol) and this time she literally rushed to the box jumped in and came up rushing beak open to bite. so i left her

ok well she got of the nest at lunchtime and no egg:( checked at 1.00pm and no egg:( checked at 3.30pm and no...........................empty nests!!!!!!

Just a question. How long do eggs take to hatch??
Because most of you know my unfortuante clutch ended last time. Well the night before the egg had a small hole in it and i checked in the morning and there was still the hole and when i got home( it was dead of course on the ground) it had hatched. I think it hatched while Macadamia wasnt in there because i think Crumble or mischeif heard the chick tweeting so thats what made them do it.
Last time Mac laid 3 eggs( only 2 she sat on) because she laid one when she was on the ground or something. Last time both the eggs were fertile so 2 out of 2 id pretty good i guess. Update if second egg comes:)

ok well i kinda candeled it and it was clear but i couldnt quite see that well. i saw them "having a go at it"( if you know what i mean;) ) just a minute ago. if she lays the second egg the same time as the last one it should be laid 1-3 hours from now.

hey it is best to candel the eggs about 5 days after they are layed as it takes a while of incubation for the baby to start growing, the first egg you should be able to tell if its fertile by the time the third is layed, if you have good eye sight and know what you are looking for you can tell as soon as the first red vein appears. Fingers crossed for you...

Ozzie sometimes sits on them and he is a eating machine. he ate half of his seed container in a day!!! ( alot for 1 budgie!!)

So far im not sure if any are fertile but i have a strong feeling if they hatch they will survive. Thankyou all for being supportive and i hope if any of you want to try breeding budgies you will read saftey rules first;)

good. no baby YET.lol. i have just done their seed and water. i also got some other good news, my other pair wizard and mischeif where seen mating...:)
if the egg hatches the same time it was laid then it should be hatching in about half hour

this is the first time ive seen a baby budgie and hes just to darn cute. hatched estimating 4.00.

ok still three. 4th meant 2 hatch today. They are VERY big!!!!
starting to get ferathers.first 2 look like they may have dark points like Mac.1 is nearly a week.

When are they maent to open there eyes??

ok well Smudgie has started to open his eyes yesterday at 1 week old.
Also Willow has his eyes open a bit. I'm not quite sure which ones which aprt from Smudgie( i think ) has white fluff starting to come on his bum and Willow( i think ) is starting o get white and black on his bum. the 2 oldest look the same size and i think the only way to tell them aprt is to wait and see who gets the feathers first. Willow( i think lol) is going to look like mac also seeing as he has some blue on his wings. Cookie(younsest) im a bit worried about. shes still so small even though she 4 days today. also her crop nearly always has air bubbles(all of them do) and underneath her bum its really round and bulgy.

the one closest is i think Willow( 2nd oldest) you can kinda see he has blkack lines on his back.Smudgie is furthest away and you cant see his downy stuff that well because its white. Cookie is undearth the oldest 2 as you can see her bum of to the right a bit lol.
Egg 4 wasnt fertile and egg 5 mean to be hatching today

Ozzie and Mac are now going in for there second clutch(tecnically 3rd). I literally only put them in 5 mins ago!!!
She (already changing in the cere) loves her toy shes standing on!!! She stands on it all day!!!
