good luck with your budgies!
i have a question. I have had my budgies since september and did not know of this website so i guess i did some things that are trust killers. Since i didnt know on the second day i took them out with a cloth and let them climb on me. Right now they will hop on my finger in the cage but hop off if i move my hand. They run away from my hand in the cage and i used to grab them to take them out but now i get them on my finger and move my hand out super fast so they stay on. They hate leaving their cage and the only time that they fly is if they are trying to get back to the cage or if something spooked them. I now know i was terrible with them but i really want them to still trust me! Did i ruin this chance of trust? Please help!

Good luck!
How old are they? You must wait until they are atleast 12 months old to breed. Yes a male may be able to breed at four months but this is very dangerous and not reccomended. Many breeders wait until their budgies are 14 months until they breed them.

You could pretty much say this of all breeding budgies. But yes, it is extremely risky to breed underage budgies. Mikey didn't answer how old they were.

Hi
I don't know what colour's you are hopeing to breed but i thought i give you some of the basics genetics, dilute is reccesive so both parents must have dilute in them to produce dilute, opaline is sex linked so a cock opaline with a normal hen will produce hen opalines with normal cocks split for opaline, where as in your case you have a hen opaline so if your cock is not split you will get normal hens and cocks spit for opaline, yellow face is Dominant so you should get yellow faced chicks, For example i had a yelowface grey cock split for opaline about 7 months old and i put him with a 2006 green spangle the pair raised 7 young ( my biggest clutch ever) and there was 2 yellow face opaline spangle hens, green opaline spangle hen, grey green spangle cock, grey green cock, grey green hen, and a yellow face grey spangle, so i got nearly a 50% of yellow face.
I'm no expert on Genetics, so if anyone thinks or knows what i have said is wrong please correct me.
Thanks Ash
