Awww sweety! I know it's hard to lose a budgie..believe me! They have such an impact on us..
As far as breeding goes, you are correct in saying that Google is not old enough yet and the fact that you are going to wait is certainly a good thing! And no, it doesn't matter that the female budgie is older than the male...however, you also don't want to try breeding a female that is too old. I don't think you'd want to breed a budgie that is older than 4 at the most...I could be wrong on that age..can anyone confirm that?
I would suggest that you get your little girlie budgie eating cuttle bone or some other sources of calcium (like crushed up egg shells) as that is a much needed mineral for her to be able to successfully lay eggs. The sooner you provide that for her, the better. She needs to maintain a high level of calcium in her body for the eggs to form properly and to be able to pass through her vent when she is ready to lay.
And remember, don't breed unless and until you are ready (well, of course your budgies would need to be ready too!!! But that goes without saying!!). If the stress is too great, then I wouldn't put myself through trying to breed them as it is a lot of responsibility to breed.
