You know, I never had an intention to breed.....My budgies bred with no help from me. they literally laid the eggs on the bottom of the cage....no nest box, etc. I guess mother nature knows how things are supposed to be...

Shaquille,

If you really want to breed budgies you need two things-- patience and knowledge. Anyone can throw a few budgies together and hope they breed, but just because they breed doesn't mean the babies would live. I learned that the hard way.:( If you're serious about this budgie breeding club, then slow down, it takes time, sweetie. The place to start, is to get a book about breeding budgies. The answer to your question about how to trigger new budgie life, is that you must mimic the conditions in nature the best you can, and the instructions on how to do that, will be found in the book.

Good luck!:)

Look on eBay under "parakeets" or "budgies" or "budgerigars." Every time I go there, I see lots of books.

Also, BIRD TALK magazine frequently has articles on parakeets. You'll see past date issues on eBay too.

One of the secrets of successful breeding is reading all you can on the subject. From authoritative sources. There are literally hundreds of books out there that will help and I'm sure you will find just what you want if you keep searching.

Good luck.

before breeding your budgies you need to make sure their in tip-top condition, and only two fit healthy parents will produce fit healthy chicks.
