I thought this might happen. My budgie was on an all pellet diet when I got him, but others told me to put him on a mix of pellets and seed. Well now he only eats the seed and NO pellets. Would it be cruel to only give him seed like twice a week or something? I'm worried though becuase he gets upset when I take the cup out to clean it...should i leave the seed cup in empty? Ugh please help, I don't want to be cruel but I don't want him to be unhealthy either. I'm already struggling becuase he eats no veggies or fruit or anythign except seed. Thanks in advance for your help!

Have you considered trying to give your little sweety a teaspoon or so of seeds daily as well as the pellets. That way, once the seeds are gone, they're gone. Keep an eye on the little fellow to make sure he's actually eating once the seeds are gone..but that should at least partially satisfy his seed cravings.:p

That's what I do, and I always put the seeds under the pellets so they have to dig through the pellets to get to the seed. As long as you keep offering fruits and veggies, they will accept them eventually. Some birds are just a little more cautious about new foods than others, so just persist!:)
