mutation question

What mutation is Kio? Sometimes he looks very green and other times almost blue. I thought maybe he has a dilute mutation in him maybe with some greywing but im probably way wrong!

Any help?

It looks like the white balance is off on your camera, there might not be enough light to take the shot and have it look close to natural. Very pretty bird.

what does the bird look like in natural lighting to the eyes? seems like your issue is just bad camera lighting. Is the head/face yellow or white?

Well, Kio is a clearwing dilute. Clearwings have very light wing markings and bright body color. The color balance is off on your camera, so I can't tell what colors he is.

looks like it might possibly be a yellowface type 2 dilute sky blue.. with spangle/greywing ?....
just a random guess, as i have a Yellowface type 2 bluish grey spangle/greywing?
sometimes he looks grey-blue, and other times he looks grey-green and has a pastel yellow wash through his wings......
i dont really know though...

here he is... on a blue-grey day, the camera dosent show the suffusion of pastel yellow through his wings though... :p

Hi, if i am not mistaken, Kio is an opaline spangle lightblue male.

The lighting effect affects the visual color in the picture but

DeBree420's budgie is a spangle mauve yellow face. At times it is also called as a spangle slate yellow face.

I have one female that looks like Kio.The cere is light blue pinkish.Is she in the breeding mode and what colors would i get mating her with cobalt greywinged white face cock?

After all this and by using a mutation guide i am 90% sure he is a yellowface type 2 dilute sky blue clearwing.

His wings im certain are right. Definatly type 2 yellowface because he changes colour after moult. Usually from blue to a light green/blue. His body colour also looks washed out so i decided he is a dilute sky blue.

yep same as my guy... but my budgie has grey factor and is a spangle not dilute clearwing...
